Terabayttan Sonra Gelen Bellek Birimleri

Hepimiz günlük yaşamda şıkça bilgisayar bellek birimlerinden bazılarını; kilobyte, megabyte, gigabyte, terabyte gibi kullanırız. Peki bilgisayarların bellek kapasitelerini ölçmek için kullanılan bu birimlerden daha büyük kapasiteleri belirtmek için kullanılanları var mı?

Bit, sadece 0 veya 1 değerini alan en temel birimdir, bu terim ilk defa 1956 yılında IBM tarafından ortaya atılmıştır ve byte, kilobyte, megabyte, gigabyte gibi kavramlar literatüre girmiştir. Zamanla artan bellek kapasitelerini ifade edebilmek için yeni birimler belirlenmiştir. Daha fazlasını merak edenler için;



1 Bit = Binary Digit (İkilik basamak gösterim birimi 0-1)

8 Bits = 1 Byte (2^3 bit)

1024 Bytes = 1 Kilobyte (2^10 byte)
