Converting your Kaon 570 in 570H
Version 1.0 January 18, 2007
Why should I make this transformation?
Because there is more support for the Kaon long 570H (presumably to sell their new products) on the other hand there are still for the 570.
What difference there is between a t'il 570H and 570?
The 570H makes recordings on hard disk thing that will be more can be done on 570 after the change.
Does the change is permanent?
No, it is sufficient to withdraw the amendment to restore its 570H
Is that the change is difficult to do?
No, there is only one to lean on a wire and any manipulation on the motherboard.
What is this famous modification?
The fundamental difference between 570H and 570 is the Display.
The 2 Display are not compatible! ! !
Therefore disable part of the Display of 570H and accordingly after the amendment of the Display
No longer function only partially.
So in addition to the HD ... The Display will no longer be operational either?
Yes, it's a price worth paying, but at least we will have a decoder that will work with the firmware 12.01.A5 which are updated regularly.
There are still there other things to do apart from the change?
Yes, once the amended its 570H HW become 12.01.A5 and it will not only save him the firmware appropriate but also change its Bootload him.
! ! ! BOOTLOAD CHANGE! ! ! ! MAMAN I FEAR! ! ! !
Yes you are right, you should always be afraid to touch the bootload, but for our model of the two bootloads Kaon are mostly compatible with each other. If one mixes brushes it will not be too severe and we will always have access to the decoder by the ****** port to remedy the situation. (See "Tips" at the end of Doc)
Well OK, "says the amendment still ... And long after I will see if I decide .... :-)
Note:
Although I have already made the change on several Kaon without ever having had recourse to
JTAG aware that you are solely responsible for your actions.
Well ... Going y. .. As already commented above, in addition to a change in physical Display it will also change the Bootload and firmware. So, the first thing to do is buy them if they are not included in the archive of this doc.
The new bootload will 2.1.9V4 KaonTeam group.
The firmware will be the last 12.01.A5 that you find on your favorite Upload.
Get also bootload 1.1.9V4 KaonTeam group for the event or do you decide
Reverse and thus find your decoder 570H.
Ideally for the amendment is to proceed in that order.
1-We save our first and favorite channels for the case or they would be removed. (Usually not)
2-We entrust the bootload 2.1.9V4 in the Kaon.
From that moment, and although the Kaon is operational it will not be possible through the ****** port to send anything at Kaon because we will have a Bootload which will be more compatible with the Display.
3-We are changing our therefore Display as explained a bit further to make it compatible.
4-Once reconnectons we changed it to the motherboard.
5-We light the Kaon with the back button.
After a few moments we will see "--" on Display
6-We are preparing the KUP mode Enginer (space bar of your PC keyboard) with firmware 12.01.A5 we have found on the Internet.
7-We support the button "Stand By" on the front of Kaon ... And
Transfer firmware should begin.
If there is a problem at the end of the transfer example ... " ERR: STB on-> PC "do not panic, things happen, just over the transfer from point 5
When the transfer is completed we finished our modifications and our decoder is
Operational.
Now as Display is no longer fully functional starting the Kaon is a little different, so here are the steps to follow:
When we light the Kaon by the switch back we see emerging on Display "--" which tells us that our product is in Stand By ... Unfortunately result of the amendment realized it is no longer possible to emerge from this mode via the remote control, it will have to hit 'Stand By "from the front to see the" on "on Display. Then, if the decoder still does not start we support on the button "Stand By" on the remote control to put it permanently on duty.
This procedure should be repeated if we cut the decoder with the back button because once the decoder in the remote service is fully operational and can be smoothly and the light switch off with it (eg to update the firmware).
Modification of the physical Display.
Above all remember to remove the electrical outlet in your decoder.
Disassembly of the Display is very simple, so I will pass details.
Once Display dismantled and disconnected from the motherboard must withdraw at the end circuit-imprimé
Power unsolder the small bridge .... D6

Then it will withdraw some wire connector Display, which connects to the motherboard. (The black is the No. 1)
To remove the wires just press with a screwdriver very late in the grooves and shoot the son puts an end connector one by one. As a precaution once the wires should be removed isolate ends with a bit of cloth insulation.

We can only cut the lead to the tune of 11 printed circuit and extend it to the bridge J6 (one we removed at the beginning)

! ! ! CAUTION NOT FOR YOU TO HOLE DECEIVED! ! ! And this is the work ... You will agree that it was not quite complex.
How to reverse and get your good old 570H
To realize in order:
1. Load bootload 1.1.9V4 group KaonTeam
2. Loading the firmware for the 570H
3. Remove the changes made on Display:
Remove the extension of the wire 11 and as a citizen it before it is shut down. Give all wires in the connector which has the motherboard. Give the bridge J6
Hints:
When Kaon lies with the Display original state but with the Bootload 2.1.9V4 it is not possible to transfer to the Kaon because communication is interrupted every few seconds by the Display. What do I do to get out?
Two possibilities:
Either change the Display as explained above
Either on the Display connects to the motherboard but slightly pushing the connector and the transfer once started ... It quickly withdrew the connector to prevent the Display does interrupt the communication via the ****** port.
When changing firmware it is possible that we pass a code of 4-digit PIN to a six-digit or vice versa. Here are a few codes of origin to try to get access to the Menu.
0000
Keys: Red Blue Green Yellow
463330
Although this will seem Doc perhaps a bit "complex" at the first reading ... Be confident that the amendment will be very easy to do and if you follow the order mentioned above this has been no problem.
Good luck ... ;-)
